Managed Payment Plans to start in April 2011

HMRC has announced that Managed Payment Plans (MPPs) will be launched in April 2011.
MPPs will enable all income tax self-assessment taxpayers and most corporation tax payers to pay liabilities in monthly instalments over a period of up to 12 months, spaced equally on either side of the normal due date(s).
HMRC has stated that payment will initially be accepted by direct debit only, but alternative electronic payment methods may be offered in the future.
