PAYE & NIC/CIS health checks
For a special fixed fee, we can carry out a PAYE & NIC or a Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) health check on your clients' businesses.
The aim of a health check is to review compliance, make any appropriate suggestions for improvements and identify opportunities for reducing costs. A particular feature of the new CIS scheme is that all subcontractors registered for gross payment status face an annual review, and the possibility of losing gross payment status if they do not pass the review, so it is essential that their compliance procedures are all in order.
By bringing a 'fresh pair of eyes' to review a business's affairs, we can often identify points that have gone un-noticed for years by the owners, auditors and even HMRC! For example, we have identified issues regarding the rules on staff entertaining and the engagement of workers on a self-employed basis, and have identified potential tax, national insurance and administrative savings by using salary sacrifices in connection with non-taxable benefits and applying for P11D dispensations.
We will agree the fee before carrying out the health check, based on the size of the business and the extent of the review that we are asked to undertake.
